Restaurants & Pubs

We are really lucky in Marazion to have several great pubs and restaurants also cafes and of course a fish & chip shop all in walking distance.  Included below are some of our favourites in neighbouring towns and villages. Always best to book a table especially in peak season.

The Godolphin

A 3 minute walk from our house with the most stunning view. Sat opposite The Mount on the mainland at the start of the causeway. It is very popular during peak season and does have online booking facility. It has a good kids menu and Expresso Martinis are recommended – not for the kids.. It is a historic building with a fantastic modern addition with floor to ceiling glazing making the most of the view. There is also a large outside terrace. If you are a large party book The Captains Table set in front of a large sash window. Particularly cozy on a winter’s day.

The Cutty Sark at The Marazion Hotel

Opposite the Godolphin is The Marazion Hotel. Their restaurant The Cutty Sark is one of our favourites. Super friendly, good children’s menu and a lovely calm atmosphere.

The Kings Arms

Right in the middle of Marazion is the very old Kings Arms. It has outdoor seating where you can watch the world go by with a pint of cider. Inside is very traditional and cozy with limited tables so best to book.

We have always had a good meal here and as well as pub staples there are usually a few more adventurous dishes as well.

The Fire Engine Inn

A 5 minute walk up the hill from our place, The Fire Engine Inn is away from the bustle. It is slightly further around the bay and has fantastic views of The Mount.

A ‘proper’ pub with a small pub garden and a second bar in the basement with a pool table.

The food is very good. Call them ahead of time and double check what they are doing for children. They also have evenings where you can collect takeaway food!

Very attentive to food allergies and intolerances.

The Victoria Inn

A definite recommendation. This pub is less than a 10 minute drive to Perranuthnoe or a 45 minute walk along the coast path.

A beautiful old pub with garden as well.

The Sunday lunch is one of the best we’ve had. It is incredibly popular so book, book, book!

The Ship Inn, Porthleven

This pub is about the drama of it’s location and the ancient quirky interior. It is positioned at the mouth of the harbour at Porthleven which is famous the the enormous waves battering the town during storms.

We love coming in here after an afternoon of jumping off the harbour wall. The walls are covered in beer mats, seating is limited so you are soon making conversation with those sat next to you.

The food is standard pub fayre and tasty. The bustle of the tiny bar and the feel of a ‘local’ pub is definitely worth a visit.

The Ferry Boat Inn Helford Passage

Lovely pub in Helford Passage, take the main road not the wiggly ones unless you have a small car!

The pub does really good food and has a pool table room. Definitely book a table even out of season so you aren’t disappointed.

The Tudor Chippy

Walk to the other end of Marazion and opposite the slipway is The Tudor Chippy. Open throughout peak season but closes for the winter – we miss it then!

Delicious fish and chips! Check opening times as you wander past so you are not disappointed. Follow them on Facebook for up to date information as well.

Porthminster Kitchen St Ives

There are so many places to eat in St. Ives but the Porthminster Kitchen is well worth a special trip. It has a fabulous location on the main harbour on the first floor with a small terrace so the views are amazing.

Excellent meals with plenty of fresh seafood on the menu.

Porthgwidden Beach Cafe

A firm favourite, they have a takeaway cafe on the ground floor and upstairs is the restaurant. Beautiful views of Porthgwidden beach and a terrace with a roof that retracts so you can eat al fresco.

The menu is really varied with an international menu, light and tasty. It is a really relaxing place to eat and away from the crowds in St Ives.
